Fair at best. From the start you know what you’re getting yourself into with this movie. The story is weak but the only saving grace from this movie being god awful is the superior special effects. The fight scenes are awesome. Watching the movie the following thoughts went through my mind….dumb, corny, are terrible acting. Hollywood needs to come up with some new original ideas and stop rehashing the same old stuff. An old movie with new special effects is still the same old movie just in a shiny new package. Movies like this are why I rarely go to the movies anymore. Considering the complete pieces of garbage Hollywood has been putting out in recent years it’s no wonder why big time movie stars are running to do TV shows instead of movies. Video stores went out of business, and next it’s the movie theaters that will be out of business as well. People like me save a few bucks and save gas by getting the movie in the mail a few months later. It’s very rare there is something that I want to go out and see. Very sad. The Mobile Movie Man has spoken!!! Good day!
Good. I got a mixed bag of e mails on this movie. The Mobile Movie Man is not a huge comic book movie guy and I liked it, but coincidentally some hardo Marvel guys hated this so go figure. Was this a sell out? I don’t know, all I know is I waited a while to see this one and I was pretty sure I was not going to like this one. The franchise comes full circle here and It starts out quick and never loses its pace throughout the entire movie. I will tell you that I was glad that I went into this movie blind because there are some parts that I didn’t expect and was pretty surprised. The writing was good, the acting was good, and the special effects were right on. Not too much, just the right amount of CGI. I think I liked this because it seemed like a different take on these superhero movies. I don’t want to spoil anything but I walked away feeling sometimes even when you win you still lose if that makes sense. I will tell you that there is a reason it’s rated R….there is a ton of violence and a lot of foul language so tread lightly letting little ones watch this. This is better than a lot of the crap out there so you can definitely do way worse than Logan!
Good. I got a lot of middle of the road feedback on this movie outside of Mr.Matt who really liked it. I’m not a huge Marvel guy but this was a little different. Kind of like the Matrix, and Inception meet the Avengers. Benedict Cumnerbatch (best Actor nominee for The Imitation Game) was superb in the lead role and the entire cast was very good as well. The special effect were great but what really drove me crazy was the music. It seemed borrowed from Star Trek. It was actually distracting and not original. That is about the only negative thing I can say about the movie. So that being said it was over all a good movie. If you like Marvel Movies you will like this but this is a Marvel crossover movie for people like myself who are tired of superhero movies. Let me know what you think and drop me a line at either firstname.lastname@example.org or at https://twitter.com/Mobilemovieman The Mobile Movie Man has spoken!
Good. As a kid the original Disney cartoon The Jungle Book is one of my favorites of all time. I loved the music, and the story. This reboot had some amazing special effects and the modern day versions of the original songs had me feeling a little nostalgic. I have to tell you that nobody does family entertainment better than Disney. They used cutting edge technology to make one of the best children’s movies even better. These animals look so real with great voices and the plot fits with the story. We all know the story a million times over but you will not be bored watching this version. There is some top shelf talent doing the voice overs of the animals but it is the little boy Neel Sethi that seals the show. I highly recommend this movie with or without a child present. Not Bad. The Mobile Movie Man likes movies about space and he’s a big fan of Jennifer Lawrence so I figured this was a can’t miss movie. I thought it was a decent sci-fi movie but there were some lame parts. There are no aliens or any scary stuff here. This is more of a love story with a sci-fi back drop. I don’t want to give away too much but the story is ok, you have to check your mind at the door and just go with it and you’ll be ok. It has some great visuals and it’s like an escape from your troubles kind of movie which is what I look for when I’m doing the rat race home from the 212. The movie is at least 15 minutes too long but will keep your attention with the special effects. The story line has been done before in other films with different titles, but this movie approached some situations from a different prospective. Entertaining, and sappy, but overall not that bad. So just to recap quickly this movie is short on the sci-fi and heavy on the love and emotions. Break out the popcorn for date night. The Mobile Movie Man has spoken!!!
Ok. Tim Burton is a weird dude. I liked Beetle Juice back in the day but I was never a really big fan of him, so I should have known better with this movie. Now I have never read any of these books so I have nothing to compare it to like some of the other people I spoke with, but personally I just thought this movie was a little hard to follow. What could have been a pretty good movie, sadly is not. There are a lot of characters and they are just not really developed. It’s kind of over kill and water downed. I stuck with this because I wanted to see how it ended, but I was really not into this like I am when I really like a movie. There are some good action scenes at the very end, but it take a while to get there and everything has to be explained. There are some good special effects, but the plot is difficult to follow at points. That being said the movie is not awful, but I’m just glad I waited to see this movie on DVD and thankful I didn’t being my 9 year old to see this because she wanted to see it. It’s definitely not for children because I would bet dollars to doughnuts that she would have had nightmares. Bottom line, if you are a Tim Burton fan or a fan of the books you might like this, outside of that there are better thing to see. The Mobile Movie Man has spoken. Now run along children.
Good. I just want to wish everyone a happy and healthy new year. This movie threw me for a loop because all of the e mails I received were a mixed bag with mostly negative reviews. Now the Mobile Movie Man is not a huge comic book movie fan but I thought this was pretty good. I don’t get all of the negative reviews. This is a comic book movie so you have to know what you are going into. It’s not going to touch your heart, or change your life. It’s just perfectly acceptable entertainment with a few good performances. It seems I like the ones that are geared a little more towards adults like Deadpool, and Guardians of the Galaxy. I will also put this movie soundtrack up there with Guardians of the Galaxy as one of the best movie soundtracks. The movie jumps around a little bit but there is a ton of action to keep you focused throughout. I will say the ending of the movie is a blatant rip off of the original Ghostbusters but things like that are par for the course these days in Hollywood. Bottom line is I don’t typically like these kind of movies but I enjoyed this one so sit back, relax and enjoy because you can do a lot worse than Suicide Squad. The Streak is alive in the New Year. 4 good movies in a row!!!! Lets keep it going kids!!!!
