God Awful. 1st off I want to welcome Geek to the Future to the world of followers. Thanks for checking me out and please drop me a few recommendations at either email@example.com or at https://twitter.com/Mobilemovieman I usually like Indi movies, but this one was a complete mess and I hope I’m not about to hit the skids and go on a run of watching a lot of bad movies. I watched two huge piles of dog mess the last two days. The film is so confusing with all of the flash backs, that one point I said to myself what in the world is going on? At first I thought maybe he was dreaming but in actuality you start from the middle and are watching the beginning and the end at the same time. Terrible acting, horrible script, and a confusing story make for a GOD AWFUL viewing experience. There is not one positive thing I can say about the movie at all. Even the girl who is supposed to be hot is not. The tough guys in the movie don’t even look tough. It’s actually comical at one point. No need to see this movie at all. Follow orders! The Mobile Movie Man has spoken. Good day!
Fair at best. This comes to us from Seany Sea and I’m not gonna lie….this one hits extremely close to home for me. This is a low budget indie comedy that I’m not recommending at all, but for Wall street people like me this is a hard look at what the hell we are gonna do when the music stops playing. I’m not gonna hammer Seany Sea over this recommendation because I can see why he recommended it to me. This could have been done a lot better, but it is what it is. No need to check this out unless maybe you are in the finance business, but be careful because you might want to jump out of a window after watching this true story. Thanks for the recommendation Seany Sea, and please keep them coming!
Fair at best. This one comes to us from Rosie in CT and at first glance I was scratching my head saying “how come I never saw this???” because The Mobile Movie Man is a huge Sam Rockwell fan. His brand of humor hits close to home with me. Now once the movie started to get going the light bulb in my head went off as to why I never saw this movie in the first place. The writing and the directing are not ever good and despite Rockwell giving it his all, not even he can save this movie. If you are the type of viewer that is into fantasy and will believe whatever these liberal writers in liberal land will put in front of you then you might find some pleasure here, but I just didn’t find it. I’m not a huge TV guy but I would rather watch all of the seasons of Friday Night Lights five times in a row and if after the fifth go around if you start to get a little bored, remember that this show is much more believable than this movie. Bottom line I didn’t really like it. Sorry Rosie but you are better than this so dust yourself off and get back on the horse. The Mobile Movie Man has spoken!
Fair at best. Boy was I disappointed here because this could have been a really good movie like the Hand That Rocks the Cradle, but instead you get a movie that looks like it was written by my six year old son. Spoilers ahead – This is basically about a crazed couple who blames their neighbors for the death of their unborn son. That same couple is then trusted to care for their new born son……are you kidding me??? On top of that these dumb new parents are so clueless to all of the new disturbances that are never connected to these same vengeful neighbors who have easy access to their home. Give me a break please!!!! This could have been a good movie but instead you get something that you really have to suspend any type of belief to find enjoyment from. Me calling this fair at best is being extremely generous but I have seen a lot of movies this year that were way worse. Maybe I’m in the Christmas spirit, who knows. Bottom line is there is no reason to go out of your way to see this movie at all. The Mobile Movie Man has spoken!!!
This was just an Ok movie for me. There were some holes but it was not a complete disaster. The movie is about a mother, father, and daughter that are in a car crash and the mother does not survive. The father is bi-polar and the daughter lives with her aunt and uncle for seven months while he gets well in a hospital. There journey together is the basic jist of the movie. One of the things that I did not like about the movie was how it would jump back forth in time, but on the other hand Russell Crowe turns in an award mentioning performance that went under the radar to my knowledge. I have issues with the story as well because they never actually explained why the daughter turns into a promiscuous women. She gets one chance at happiness and almost blows it. Amanda Seyfried and Aron Paul do good jobs but there is just something missing from making this movie better than it was. The movie is not great but it’s not god awful either .I’m not sure how this made it into my movie queue either because this is not something the Mobile Movie Man would typically go out of his way to see. Tread lightly friends.
Ok. This one comes to us from Rosie in CT and the movie is decent but I think the title should be changed to something along the lines of “Rich White Kids Have Problems Too” because it follows the son of a 15 year old trust fund new ager as he goes away to prep school and reunites with his father who just sold his 48 furniture stores in New York…yeah #loaded! I guess you could say this is a good look at the potential problems and drama of those who don’t have REAL problems. Overall I thought the movie was boring. I feel like today’s indie comedies have too many over the top quirky characters and I could not relate to any of them. Maybe it’s because I’m sick of the one percent’s problems…I don’t know. The Goat Man was pretty cool mostly because of his whatever attitude about life and just grew a bunch of pot in his greenhouse. That being said the movie was lacking any real humor or relatable events. It felt like a wasted potential of film. Sorry Rosie this was a little off target for me. Thanks again for the recommendation and please keep them coming. The Mobile Movie Man has spoken!!!
Fair at Best. I’m not sure how this made its way into my queue. The characters in the movie are likable, and the story is ok. The problem with the movie is it feels like its three hours long even though it’s only 85 minutes long. The movie is about an aspiring musician, and every song is played at full length. I think the movie might have been a little better as a romantic comedy without any of the music. The movie also has THICK Irish accents. I’m pretty good at understanding what the hell these off the boat donkeys say as I grew up with a ton of them but even I had to watch the movie with subtitles just so I fully understood everything. The majority of the movie was slow and boring. I watched the whole movie hoping for something to happen, and maybe pick up the pace a little but that never happened. It really was a waste of time. Once? Not even Once. The Mobile Movie Man has spoken!!
