God Awful. This movie is from the main characters point of view. He’s basically saying everyone has thought like he does at some point in their marriage. Actually, I haven’t, so maybe that is why I just don’t get the movie. For me I could never leave a successful career, to a homeless guy scrounging throw dumpsters for food and turning my back on my family. Call me crazy but that’s me. I also don’t buy the conclusion. Do you think the wife would listen to him and by sympathetic and understanding upon his return, or do you think she would call the police and have him taken in for medical observation? Basically this is a writer’s fantasy run amok. He’s anti city, and anti the suburbs. To me it’s as if he’s anti humanity. This move was a complete waste of time so do yourself a favor and avoid this one at all costs. I took the bullet so you don’t have to. The Mobile Movie Man has spoken!!! Now run along, Good day!
God Awful. First off I want to welcome Reshoot&Rewind to the world of followers. Thanks for checking me out and please drop me a line at either email@example.com or at https://twitter.com/Mobilemovieman Now I did not grow up in the 60’s or the 70’s so it might not seem fair for me to make these statements but the directing and the feel of this movie seem like the director did not live in this era either. The treatment of subjects like protesting, verbal handicap, and pedophile are just not believable at all. The actors were particularly unsuited and miscast for their roles as well. If you have a couple hours that you simply must waste, then this is your opportunity. Me calling this movie god awful is being kind. Avoid this movie at all costs and you’ll thank me later. Everyone please have a safe Fourth of July Weekend and we will recap next week.
God Awful. First off I want to welcome Peter Breglio to the world of followers. Thanks for checking me out kid and please drop me a few movie recommendations at either firstname.lastname@example.org or at https://twitter.com/Mobilemovieman Now let me start by saying The Mobile Movie Man is a huge Matthew McConaughey guy. He’s been on a hell of a run cranking out solid picture after picture that I now just go in blind if I see he’s in the movie. Boy was that a mistake. This movie is so boring that I would rather talk about women’s rights with my wife than have to watch this again. The movie is about a forest in Japan that is apparently a real place where people go to commit suicide. I have a great idea for a sequel…Hillary should head there after the beating see took from the Donald. What is going on in Hollywood these days?? Making movies now about killing ourselves? Shame on you guys for cranking out garbage like this on so many different levels. The people that funded this movie should kill themselves. Obviously you can see that I hated this movie. Do yourself a favor and avoid this one at all costs as I took a bullet for you guys again. Feel free to thank me. The Mobile Movie Man has spoken!!
Very Good. First off I want to welcome April Ivy to the world of followers. Thanks for checking me out girl and please drop me a few movie recommendations at either email@example.com or at https://twitter.com/Mobilemovieman Now let me start by saying this movie has subtitles so this might not be your thing because you have to give this your undivided attention to make sure you read everything to keep up. This is also a court room drama so this is also in my wheel house because that is The Mobile Movie Mans favorite genera. There are a couple take aways I had when the movie was over. First and foremost, THANK GOD I was born in the United States and not Ethiopia where the movie takes place. Second, what is also sad is the amount of human trafficking that goes on even today. The fact that this movie is based on a true story just goes to show you how little some countries have advances in regards to woman’s rights. Very good movie and alarming subject matter. This is easily one of the better movies I’ve seen in a while. Angelina Jolie was the executive producer of the movie, so good job by her to bring this issue to global audiences. I don’t want to ruin anything for your guys but I didn’t like that last 3 minutes of the movie. If you see this you’ll know why but this is a very good movie. Solid choice, the Mobile Movie Man has spoken.
Good. Going in I was saying to myself “again with slavery???”, but this movie was very interesting to me. One of the major takeaways I had was the fact that the Democrats have been lying and cheating to get in power since inception. It was the republicans who fought for black people and gave them the right to vote, as well as women’s rights to vote. It’s amazing how people forget about their own history and the Democrats take the credit now. I thought the acting was great, and the detail to that period of time was spot on. The only negative for me was the fact that it was a little long. A couple spoilers are coming……The battle scenes although short are very good, but with that long of a movie I felt they should have focused on the battles and not jump to the 1970’s court case against the main character’s great great grandson. To me that is another story in itself. Thankfully those flash forwards are short and spread out of the entire movie. Overall it’s a good movie, and if you are a fan of the civil war then it’s a must see. It’s definitely the best thing I’ve seen in a while.
Ok. This one comes to us from D-Rock who resides in the borough and I have to go back and check the logs but this is one of the very few recommendations he has made without Liam Neeson in it. Now if you read me daily you know how I feel about these types of movies. This one is a typical by the book Hollywood bio flick. Quite similar to 42, the Jackie Robinson story as it recounts the discrimination and hostility experienced by minorities in the early 20th century. This is a true story about an awful injustice during a time period where things were unfair, but enough is enough already. Can we please move on and make some other happy and uplifting stories? As far as the movie is concerned, the cast turns in a solid performance outside of Jason Sudeikis who I thought was a complete miscast. Any positive buzz this movie gets is a kind of guilt trip for savaging an entire race of people. Handing out awards and accolades will never repair the damage done to the African American population, but I think it’s really time to move on already. Movie is ok and I can see people liking and/or enjoying this but this is just not for me. Thanks for the recommendation D-Rock and please keep them coming as I do appreciate it.
Very Good. Going in this is totally not the type of foreign movie with subtitles that I would enjoy, but this movie is just that good. I was so blown away that I would like a foreign inspirational drama but I really did. This is based on a true story about a quadriplegic and his care taker, but the fact that the main character is disabled is a minor detail. The movie is about the bond that forms between the two, and the impact the caretaker has on his life. Not only is the movie well done, but there are some very funny laugh out loud type moments here. It’s rare that I laugh out loud on a quiet train but I did quite a few times. I’m not sure if you like foreign films, but if that’s something you are into then this is a must see. The fact that this is the second most successful French film of all time tells you all you need to know. This will no doubt be remade in an English version at some point just like the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was. Hey Worm….shame on you for not putting me onto this. Netflix recommended this based on all of the foreign films I’ve been watching. Sloppy on your part!!!
