The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016)

Fair at best.  Now we all know that The Mobile Movie Man’s least favorite genera is Horror so off the bat I’m going into this with preconceived notions. The movie is not bad, and would probably scare the hell out of my daughter and her friends if she was having a sleepover party, but to me I just thought it was dumb. I was shocked Brian Cox would do a movie like this. He’s a very good actor, but I guess everyone needs a pay check these days. The first half of the movie is a little creepy, and disturbing. The second half was comical, and moronic. I’m sure there is an audience out there for this type of movie, it’s just not me. The Mobile Movie Man has spoken!!! Good day!

Lights Out (2016)

Ok. Now we all know the Mobile Movie Mans least favorite genera is Horror, but as far as horror movies go this one is ok. The plot is thin and the movie is not really scary. It relies more on jump scares instead of actual substance. The movie ends without leaving the door open for a sequel but I was doing some digging on the movie and it cost 5MM to make and made almost 70MM. So you know what that means don’t you???? They are already getting the sequel together. Not sure how, but there was enough interest there so here they go. If you are a horror fan then you will like this. I didn’t hate it but I was just hoping for something a little better and less predictable. The Mobile Movie Man has spoken! Good day.

Unforgettable (2017)

No Bueno. First off I want to welcome Jennifer Anne Swick to the world of followers. Thanks for checking me out girl, and please drop me a line at either www.themobilemovieman@gmail.com or at https://twitter.com/Mobilemovieman Now let me start by saying that I have seen better Lifetime movies than this. It’s so predictable. Ex-wife goes psycho on her ex’s girlfriend. There is really no suspense to the movie at all. It’s just annoying. Hollywood is really running out of ideas it seems. Guys I’m going to keep this one short and sweet, poorly written and poorly acted. Not much more than I can say about this one. Unforgettable is totally forgettable. Save you time and watch something else. The Mobile Movie Man has spoken!!!

Get Out (2017)

Good. I hope everyone had a nice Fourth of July Holiday. Mine was excellent and now it’s back to work kids!!! The Worm checks in with another solid recommendation. Now we all know that the Mobile Movie Man’s least favorite genera is Horror, but this was a little different and I liked it over all. When I watch a horror film I usually go in expecting the worst and this movie was not bad at all and genuinely suspenseful up until a certain point, then it degenerated into nothing more than a typical slasher horror film, but till then I thought the movie was good. There are a few clever twists and it’s a cut above other horror movies I’ve seen. There are some serious racial undertones here that I can see bothering some people. I walked away feeling the message of the director was that white people are deeply disturbed and not to be trusted. Usually I would be annoyed with the Liberals force feeding their message down our throats but I found it so laughable that this time it didn’t annoy me. If there is a sequel it will probably suck, but this was a solid recommendation, and better than a lot of the garbage out there. Thanks again Worm, and please keep just the good ones coming.

Detour (2017)

God Awful. 1st off I want to welcome Geek to the Future to the world of followers. Thanks for checking me out and please drop me a few recommendations at either www.themobilemovieman@gmail.com or at https://twitter.com/Mobilemovieman  I usually like Indi movies, but this one was a complete mess and I hope I’m not about to hit the skids and go on a run of watching a lot of bad movies. I watched two huge piles of dog mess the last two days. The film is so confusing with all of the flash backs, that one point I said to myself what in the world is going on? At first I thought maybe he was dreaming but in actuality you start from the middle and are watching the beginning and the end at the same time. Terrible acting, horrible script, and a confusing story make for a GOD AWFUL viewing experience.  There is not one positive thing I can say about the movie at all. Even the girl who is supposed to be hot is not. The tough guys in the movie don’t even look tough. It’s actually comical at one point. No need to see this movie at all. Follow orders! The Mobile Movie Man has spoken. Good day!

Allied (2016)

Ok.  This is Brad Pitt’s third WW2 movie and he brings a unique style to all three. The first was Inglorious Bastards, then Fury, and now Allied. This movie is entertaining enough as long as you can suspend your belief levels, but early on I thought this could have been a really good film. It’s basically a good story told badly.  If Hitchcock were alive he would have made this movie and you would be sitting on the edge of your seat wondering what was going to happen next, instead you have Brad Pitt who is 50+ playing a guy half his age. As the movie continued I could see each scene unfolding before it happened and that was a little boring to me. The acting is decent and there is some chemistry between the leads. The plot is fairly standard. Nothing ground breaking here at all. The movie just leaves you wanting more. I will tell you that it’s fine for a rental if you have nothing else to watch, but you can definitely do way worse than Allied.  The Mobile Movie Man has spoken!!!

A Kind of Murder (2016)

God awful. First off I want to welcome Maxxesbooktopia to the world of followers. Thanks for checking me out and please drop me some movie recommendation at either www.themobilemovieman@gmail.com or at https://twitter.com/Mobilemovieman .   This is a Hitchcock wannabe, plain and simple. The plot is about an innocent man who wishes someone dead and they wind up killed, just like Strangers on a Train. The script is weak and the acting is pathetic. The only saving grace for the movie were the scenes from the 60’s. They were well done, but that was the only thing that was done well in this movie. If you have been putting off a trip to the dentist, I would suggest doing that instead of watching this movie. It’s just that bad!!! The Mobile Movie Man has spoken!!

Nerve (2016)

OK. This is a millennial movie, so I was definitely not the target audience. I thought the concept was pretty good and the 1st 2/3 of the movie were cool, but in the last 1/3 the wheels come completely off. The movie is aimed at teens and anyone who can suspend their disbelief. The idea of the movie was interesting enough. Create a game that feeds into the millennials needs for acceptance from strangers and lack of respect for rules. As the movie was progressing I kept saying to myself “just walk away you fools”, but like I said earlier, I was the wrong demographic for this movie. Overall there is lots of action and the plot moves along at a good pace, it’s just way too formulaic for me. The movie is not god awful, so maybe watch this on a slow night. You can definitely do a lot worse than this movie, and if you are in college like my nieces then you will probably really like this one. Thread lightly folks. The Mobile Movie Man has spoken!!!

Come and Find Me (2016)

Ok. The Mobile Movie Man was a HUGE Breaking Bad fan. It’s one of my favorite shows ever and I don’t watch a lot of TV. I have a difficult time separating Aaron Paul from Jessie Pinkman (his character on the show), but I thought he did a good job playing the part of a guy whose girlfriend goes missing and he slowly finds out she is not what he thought she was. The plot drags at some parts but overall its interesting and supplies enough suspense that it’s a good popcorn film for a Friday night movie night at home. The movie is not great but it’s not god awful either. There are plenty of movies that are way worse than Come and Find Me so no need to go out of your way to see but if it’s on its not a horrible choice. The Mobile Movie Man has spoken!

The Conjuring 2 (2016)

Good. Now when I say the movie is good, you have to compare it to other horror films. Mr.Matt checks in with this solid recommendation. The Mobile Movie Man’s least favorite genre is Horror, so I had no intention of watching this movie at all untill Mr.Matt brought this to my attention. You have to be able to suspend your belief a little, but what I like about these two movies is you have characters to root for, and they are based on true stories.  This movie is different than the original. It’s not exactly a sequel, but more of another movie with the same characters sort of like when Morgan Freeman would play Alex Cross in all of the James Patterson movies. I don’t think this is as good as the original but I think its good enough to appeal to viewers like me who don’t typically watch horror films. Good story line and plenty of scares throughout the movie. Solid recommendation Mr.Matt. Please keep just the good ones coming.
